Proposed 9 Acre Hotel Development on Lighthouse Road (Rt 54) in Fenwick Island, DE

Monday, May 24th, 2021: Some of you may have been aware of this potential development project for the old farm off Lighthouse Road by Catch 54 (it's the old farm you can see from Route 54). As concerned neighbors, we feel it is important that all nearby residents be informed about this project as the size and scope of the complex seems very large for the already busy area.

Update on Tuesday May 25th: Details on the hearing for the proposed property near Catch 54. Samantha Danaher contacted the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Department to confirm the dates and times (thank you, Samantha).

Here are the two days for hearings:
Thursday, June 10th at 5:00pm
Tuesday, July 27th at 1:30pm


Please note these may be changed or rescheduled. If you are planning on attending, we encourage you to contact the Planning & Zoning Office in advance.


There is also the issue of limited access and space for attendees. As one of the documents stated, "interested persons shall have reasonable opportunity to be heard", which I assume has to do with available space and time constraints. I am of the mindset, however, that we CAN write letters and send emails. Who's up for submitting feedback through various channels? To be HEARD we need quality objections, written well and from various angles, outlining how such a massive project would unfairly and dangerously overburden this area. Who's in?
